Teen Leadership Corps participants are trained and enabled to be useful and helpful in behind-the-scenes conference duties. Teens will be placed on teams and will get to know their fellow TLC members as they build leadership and teamwork skills throughout the event. Over the course of the conference, teams will rotate through workshops and service jobs, many of which require interacting with convention attendees. Each team will have a team leader to train, encourage, supervise, and work closely with them. Please note, however, that teens are often spread throughout the Conference Center when serving and they will have short breaks throughout the day. In light of this, we ask that registered teens be mature enough to stay with their group and have the ability to meet back with their team at specified times.

Every year our country habitually finishes in the bottom third of the countries of the world participating in the annual mental math competition for 8th graders. Unlike the Asian and many of the European countries, our texts fail to include the plethora of mental/speed techniques that exist involving addition, subtraction, fractions, squaring and multiplication. We’ll attempt to detail as many of the 62 shortcuts in my textbook as time will allow. By producing answers far more quickly either orally or with minimum writing, we’ll soon be bettering our rank in the world and will leave our calculator-dependent friends in the dust!

If we homeschool simply to achieve high academic marks, we are squandering the opportunity to influence our children for Christ. Character healthy leaders are those children who have learned to elevate virtues above feelings. In this conference, Megan, a homeschooling mother of eight, will challenge your homeschoolers to use every opportunity to teach their children to serve God by loving others and to love others by faithfully serving God.

Living on Borrowed Time, The Nine Practices of The Proactive Parent.
As a pilot for American Airlines, Steve was very close to the events of 9/11. Steve was originally scheduled to be the co-pilot on AA Flight 11, the first flight to be hijacked on Sept. 11th, 2001. Through a extraordinary set of divine circumstances Steve was bumped from that flight the night before by a more senior pilot. Now, he tells his deeply moving story of God’s providence on that terrible day in our history. Come discover why God gave Steve a second chance, and how He now uses him to teach parents all around the world to parent with purpose and urgency, as he introduces you to The Nine Practices of The Proactive Parent.
