5:00 pm – Homeschool Freedom Rally on the Capitol Steps
At 5:00pm, we will gather on the Capitol steps for our Homeschool Freedom Rally- a short program with some key legislators addressing the crowd, sharing our Michigan Home Education Week resolution, and briefly reviewing the history of homeschooling in Michigan- focusing on how we obtained our freedom and what we need to be doing to keep that freedom! We will also enjoy some time of corporate prayer and singing of some patriotic songs together, before heading across town to our “Hope for your Homeschool Night of Worship.”
Starting at 2:00 pm on Thursday, May 20th, come find MiCHN Representatives under the Day at the Dome canopy on the Capitol lawn to answer questions and to pick up information, helpful civics curriculum resources, prayer guides, patriotic song sheets, etc…
Rally on the Capitol steps begins at 5:00 pm!
At the Homeschool Freedom Rally we will celebrate the freedom we currently have to homeschool in Michigan. Join us in corporate prayer for our state and nation, for families, for churches, and for the protection of our freedoms– especially our homeschool freedom. We will be inspired by stories about how we obtained the homeschool freedom that we have today, and reminded of what we must do in order to keep that freedom.
Note: Optional Capitol tours are available every half hour, beginning at 2:00. Each tour is limited to 25 people. Sign up for a tour here: TOUR TICKETS (This is the only part of the event which requires registration.)
